Queen’s Alumni Feature

A university degree alone does not propel a career. Oftentimes, it’s the whole university experience that sparks an idea.

In the case of Jayevan Foster, Artsci’13, it was his time spent on the Queen’s football team that influenced his next step, opening his own sports agency, Empire MGMT, to help football players get to the Canadian Football League. “Being an athlete and being around a lot of my buddies at Queen’s, they were all going pro,” says Foster. “We didn't really understand how to get to the next level. I thought there was a huge gap.”

Hamilton Magazine

Jayevan Foster has always been a game changer: “Jayevan Foster is bringing the hustle to Hamilton and building a sports & entertainment empire.” His front pager interview with Hamilton magazine was a major start to Hamilton recognizing and embracing Jayevan’s vision for Empire!

Hamilton HIVE

Jayevan was invited to sit down for an interview with Hamilton HIVE. It was a lighthearted interview on everything from President Jayevan's favourite go-to spots in Hamilton, to why Empire MGMT chose to make its base in Hamilton, ON.

Power of the Pitch CHCH NewsHamilton Spectator

12 young Hamilton entrepreneurs have just finished a 16 week course that taught them everything they need to know about starting a business. They put that knowledge on the line today in a “Dragon’s Den” style competition, where the best ideas walk away with up to $3000 in funding.

Jayevan Foster has already won a Vanier Cup with Queen’s University, but he’s hoping to parlay his sports background into a lucrative career as an agent.

“I’m going to a lot of OUA games. I’m down at McMaster sitting in the stands with my binoculars trying to find the next football star.”

They’ve all completed a 16 week course, organized by Mohawk College, The Good Shepherd centre, and Skills for Change. Jayevan walked away as a winner!
